T-Global Technology, a 22-year-old heat dissipation solutions provider, is expanding its production capacity in Taiwan and Vietnam to meet the growing demand from data center customers, driven by the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI). Founder and CEO Kenny Hsiao highlighted the urgent need for innovations in energy efficiency and cooling solutions, especially as AI continues to accelerate.
Thermal conductivity and heat dissipation are critical to the functioning of data centers, where AI chips and servers can reach extreme temperatures during the intensive training of large language models (LLMs). “AI is like the spirit in Pandora’s Box—once opened, it cannot be put back,” Hsiao told Tech Soda, explaining that the increasing demand for computing power will only intensify as AI becomes more embedded in everyday life. With this unstoppable trend, he emphasized the need for innovative cooling technologies that optimize power usage efficiency (PUE) while minimizing environmental impacts.
Cooling technologies have evolved rapidly in recent years, moving from air-cooled systems to more advanced liquid and immersion cooling. According to Nobunaka Chai, a senior analyst at Taiwan’s Photoelectronics Industry Development Association (PIDA), immersion cooling offers a PUE of 1.0 but presents challenges such as the risk of water leaks. As the industry continues to innovate, more efficient and reliable solutions will be essential for the next generation of data centers.
Supplying Major Industries with Cutting-Edge Thermal Solutions
T-Global supplies heat dissipation solutions to over 3,000 direct customers, including industry leaders such as Tesla, Gogoro, major Taiwanese computer manufacturers, semiconductor packaging technology leaders, and AI server manufacturers. The company’s product range includes thermal conductivity pads, ceramic heat spreaders, thermal insulators, and thermal grease—used in everything from AI servers and smartphones to electric vehicles and low-Earth-orbit satellites.
With technology advancing rapidly over the past 20 years, T-Global has remained at the forefront of innovation, continuously developing new products to meet its clients' evolving needs. "We are committed to providing the safest and most environmentally friendly solutions," Hsiao said. The company’s 2023 Sustainability Report highlights its focus on quality and safety, with certifications such as ISO9001, ISO14001, and IECQ 080000. T-Global’s products also comply with global standards like RoHS, REACH, and UL, ensuring high-quality and reliable performance.
Expanding to Meet Global Demand
To keep pace with increasing demand, T-Global is expanding its production facilities. The company is constructing a new factory in Taoyuan Guishan, covering an area of 20,000 square meters. This new facility is strategically located across from Microsoft's newly operational data center, which began operations in August 2024. In addition, T-Global has purchased a 30,000 square meter plot of land near Hanoi, Vietnam, where it plans to complete a factory by next year and begin mass production of heat dissipation products for global customers by 2026.
T-Global’s focus on sustainability extends beyond its products to its own operations. The company sources 90% of its materials locally to reduce carbon emissions and has incorporated energy-efficient materials into its factory and office buildings. Additionally, solar panels installed on the roofs of these buildings provide electricity, further contributing to its sustainability goals.
A Global Vision with a Beneficial Business Model
T-Global’s name reflects its global ambitions. Hsiao, who began his career as an engineer before transitioning to international sales management, founded the company with the vision of providing essential heat dissipation solutions for electronic devices worldwide. "It was tough in the beginning, but when the digitalization of television signals drove demand for flat-panel TVs, our business started to take off," Hsiao recalled. Today, T-Global boasts a team of more than 30 research and development engineers and has expanded its presence globally, acquiring a UK company and setting up offices in the U.S., Japan, South Korea, China, and Singapore.
The company is also Taiwan's first B-Corp in the manufacturing sector. As a certified B-Corp, T-Global emphasizes stakeholder well-being over maximizing shareholder profits. "We are committed to sharing more profits with employees and caring for all stakeholders while investing in long-term development and sustainability," Hsiao said. This business model aligns with the company’s growth ambitions, as T-Global expects to significantly expand its workforce to meet rising demand in the coming years.
With 15% of its current workforce already made up of foreign employees, T-Global is fostering a multicultural environment to support future growth. The company is focused on creating a workplace where employees feel valued and can thrive. “We want to build a business that benefits all stakeholders and ensures employees are happy to be a part of it,” Hsiao said, adding that T-Global aims to enable its customers to continue innovating while minimizing the environmental impact of heat-intensive technologies like AI.
